Michael grew up in a small town outside Chicago, Illinois, where at the age of 14 he began his lifelong affair with the art of cutting hair. He set up a mock salon in his basement, cut hair all through high school and attended cosmetology school in the early 70's.

      Michael attended Vidal Sassoon Academy in San Francisco, Sebastian International in Chatsworth, California, and Sebastian haircutting seminars in Spain. He has been working and teaching in several salons since that time, working his way from Chicago to his current location in Tucson, Arizona, where many of his clients have retained his services for over 20 years.
