Comments: Monsoon floods were (hopefully) over, when a Sunday afternoon's trek
into Reddington Pass, near Tucson, Arizona, produced a saguaro perched on the skyline,
highlighted by the setting sun. It was the reflection of the soft sun-rays on the
saguaro, which in turn was silhouetted against a moodily Payne's grey sky, that
firsts caught my attention - and I believe the image succeeds in capturing the magic
and mood of the moment.

Comments: A late Summer's Saturday afternoon, lounging on the porch, the
cactus demanded some attention. Responding, I tried, I believe successfully, a
new technique in pastel, that of feathering.

Comments: A sudden urge to change rendering style resulted in a
traditional Impressionist image turning into an image reminicient of van Gogh's
Starry Night.
