And not to be outdone, this artist willingly accepts the challenge.


JB15   Title: Bear Down Bluegum     Price: $750 (single) or $1,950 for series of 3.   Size: 16" x 21.75"   Medium: Pastel   Ground: Wallis White paper   Comments: Created as companion piece to the Bluegum Collection, this eucalyptus is, to this artist, reminiscent of the struggle, but also the grace and beauty, that comes with achievement. Outside Bear Down Gym on Campus --University of Arizona.


JB7   Title: Lone Old Tree in a Dry Wash   Price: $275   Size: approx 11 x 17 inches   Medium: Pastel   Ground: Canson Mi-Teintes paper   Comments: Saturdays are times for exploring Nature and releasing the frustrations of the week.   Though not evident immediately, this little tree was stuck in the middle of a dry wash, feeling very lonely, I thought.   So tree, by its presence comforted the artist; and (hopefully) the attention it received, enforced its 'rationale d' etre' .

Fabriano Paper   Collection: Private.   Comments: One of a number of studies by this artist of a red gate on Mountain Ave. in Tucson, Arizona. The contract of the gate with the golden leaves is most appealing.

JB035   Title: Cottonwoods - Box Canyon.   Price: (SOLD --prints, notecards avail.)   Size:, 24" x 20"   Medium: Pastel (NuPastel, Rembrandt and Sennelier)   Ground: Wallis Belgian Mist paper   Comments: After re-negotiating territorial rites with a herd of steer, which had come trundling down the dry wash (gully), I re-positioned the easel and with constant munching and mooing echoing in my ears, completed the image.   At least this image seems to have won critical applause from a… cattle herd.   Collection: University of Arizona - UGallery.
